Terms of Service

Last updated: July 21, 2026

These terms govern use of HomeClip. Questions about them, or a request for specific clauses, go to [email protected].

1. The service

HomeClip operates a directory of home services providers in Texas. Listings include license verification, aggregated reviews, and contact information. Use of the site is free for homeowners. Businesses may optionally subscribe to HomeClip Pro for additional features.

2. Trust Scores and accuracy

The HomeClip Trust Score is HomeClip's own assessment and opinion, an estimate computed from public data (state license records, Better Business Bureau records, and public review sentiment) together with HomeClip's own verified reviews. It is not a statement of fact, a certification, or a guarantee of any business's performance, work quality, licensing, or pricing.

Factual data such as license status reflects the most recent public records we retrieved and is shown with the date we last checked it. Records change and our copy may be out of date — a license shown as expired may since have been renewed, and the reverse. Always verify a contractor's current license status, insurance, and bonding directly with the issuing authority and the contractor before hiring.

If you believe any information on a listing is inaccurate, tell us using the “Report incorrect information” link on the listing, or email [email protected], and we will review and correct it promptly.

3. Quote requests

When you submit a quote request, your contact information is forwarded directly to the business you selected. HomeClip does not sell or share your contact information with anyone else.

4. Business accounts

Businesses listed on HomeClip may claim their profile. By claiming, the business owner agrees to respond to leads in good faith and accept the dispute process for sentiment signals.

5. Subscriptions

HomeClip Pro is $69/month (or $690/year). HomeClip Pro+ is $99/month (or $990/year). All billed via Stripe. Cancel anytime; no refunds for partial months. Pro includes a 3-month free trial; the subscription begins billing when the trial ends unless cancelled.

6. Text messages (HomeClip Lead Alerts)

HomeClip Lead Alerts is our SMS program for contractors. It sends lead alerts when a homeowner asks you for a quote, or needs someone urgently through SOS, and account notifications about your own listing, such as your state licence or insurance certificate nearing expiry. It is available only to contractors who have claimed their profile, given us a mobile number for that purpose, and ticked the SMS consent box on the claim form. The box is never ticked for you and is never a condition of claiming your profile or of using HomeClip. Leave it unticked and we send your leads by email instead. We never text homeowners, and we never send marketing or promotional messages on this programme.

Message frequency varies and follows homeowner demand and your own account events; there is no fixed schedule. Some weeks you may receive none, a busy day may bring several. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts. Reply HELP for help. You can also withdraw consent at any time by emailing [email protected]. Opting out does not affect your listing, your Trust Score, or your leads, which continue by email. Mobile information and messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes; see our Privacy Policy.

Support: [email protected].

7. Liability

HomeClip is an information directory and does not perform home services, guarantee outcomes, or take responsibility for work performed by listed businesses. Hiring decisions and liability for work performed remain with the homeowner and the contractor.

Trust Scores, tier labels, and aggregated signals are HomeClip's opinions and estimates, provided “as is” and without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HomeClip is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site or reliance on any score, listing, or data point. A business that believes a listing is inaccurate may request a correction (Section 2) and, once claimed, may dispute review signals through the dispute process.
